Blossom provides ABA master’s students with an enriching fieldwork experience, immersing them in a unique learning environment. Our program stands out for a variety of reasons:

2. A strong focus on Natural Environment Teaching (NET) and a child-led approach to ABA therapy
3. A Regional Fieldwork Supervisor with the purpose of providing students with an additional layer of learning, past their uniquely assigned Primary Fieldwork Supervisor

What are the Eligibility Requirements for ABA Fieldwork Students?

To participate in Blossom’s fieldwork program, interested students must meet specific eligibility criteria and submit a Fieldwork Application to the Regional Fieldwork Supervisor. These requirements ensure that students are well-prepared and qualified for the program.Here are the eligibility criteria:

Enrollment in a Qualifying ABA Master’s Program: Students must be enrolled in an ABA master’s program that meets the necessary standards and qualifications in order to accrue fieldwork hours.
Client Staffing: Students must be staffed on a client for a minimum of 15 hours per week. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible to apply.
Blossom Employee in Good Standing: Students must be current employees of Blossom and should maintain a good standing within the organization.
Post-Onboarding Work Commitment: Students are required to commit to working at Blossom for at least 30 days following the completion of their onboarding, ensuring continuity and stability within the program.
BCBA Fieldwork Recommendation: Students must obtain a fieldwork recommendation from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or professor in a relevant subject area, affirming their suitability and readiness for the fieldwork program.

Kosai Zaya

Regional Fieldwork Supervisor

Meet your Regional Fieldwork Supervisor, Kosai.

Kosai is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Kosai’s educational experience includes earning a bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology (BA) and minors in biology and philosophy from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He also holds a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University.

Kosai first got involved in the field from a volunteering opportunity at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. For the last eight years, he has helped with the Unified Special Olympics program. Two things that stood out to him during this experience were how unique each athlete was, and the ability to create a meaningful connection through shared participation in athletics.

What Kosai loves most about working at Blossom is the culture. Leadership at Blossom emphasizes providing support for all staff and building a positive culture in the workplace. Kosai also enjoys the autonomy that Blossom allows its clinicians to function with.

Outside of work, you will find Kosai participating in various sports leagues, spending time with his dog, a lab-pitbull mix that never seems to get tired, or volunteering with the Imagine for Youth Foundation.

What will ABA Fieldwork Students Receive at Blossom?

At Blossom, ABA fieldwork students can expect a comprehensive and rewarding experience that prepares them for success in their careers. Here are some of the key features of our program:

Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork: ABA fieldwork students have the opportunity to accrue 1500 hours of concentrated supervised fieldwork, providing them with extensive hands-on experience and practical skills development.
Assigned Primary Fieldwork Supervisor: Students will have 1:1 weekly meetings with their dedicated primary fieldwork supervisor, ensuring individualized support and guidance throughout their fieldwork journey. You will also attend and participate in supervisions and parent meetings, help to manage the responsibilities of a caseload, conduct and write up assessments, and participate in problem solving situations that will help to shape you into a confident and collaborative BCBA.
Cohort Experience/Collaborative Learning: With our Regional Fieldwork Supervisor, you will also have the opportunity and expectation of attending group supervisions every other week with the rest of your cohort. These group supervisions are designed to create unique learning opportunities, but also to increase the efficacy of our students with regards to their practicum experience. Group Supervision is flexible in that each activity is made by the Regional Fieldwork Supervisor to enhance a skill or piece of knowledge: team games rebuilt to teach ABA, case collaboration and treatment planning, leadership training, and research review are just some of the activities that occur during our groups.
BCBA Certification Exam Preparation: At Blossom, our Regional Fieldwork Supervisor also provides a weekly study group at each location, with the purpose of preparing our students for the BCBA Certification Exam. During study group, we can review the current BACB Test Content Outline, mock exams, and any other content our aspiring BCBAs would like to learn more about.
